Upcycling is about seeing potential function and beauty where others don’t. It’s about having a vision and adding value through creativity and skill. It’s about preventing items from going to a landfill that could still serve a useful purpose and bring joy to new people. Sometimes it’s just a matter of repairing, refinishing, or slightly improving an item; sometimes it’s about converting one or more items into something totally new. When multiple pieces are involved, the final product should be greater than the sum of its parts.
