THE STORY

I found this plant stand, with a ruined shelf, in an alley of my Glover Park neighborhood of D.C. I built a new top using wood leftover from other projects and tile leftover from a bathroom renovation, and applied a waterproofing sealant to protect it against spills or overflows. I rough-sanded all the wood, painted on a coat of primer, then two coats of semi-gloss black. I think it ended up with a nice integrated look.
